On the 18th of March, Diagrama Foundation travelled to Belgium for a 3-day visit as part of the project “ICE – Into Caring Europe”. ICE aims to improve the quality of domiciliary community care by learning about existing qualifications in each partner country. The partners’ objective is to develop a foundation course to raise the standard of domiciliary care available and to raise awareness about the needs of clients. Read more...

The first edition of Women's Day took place in 1911, in Germany, Austria, Denmark and Switzerland, and has extended its commemoration since then to many other countries. In 1977, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed March 8 as International Women's Day, which aims to raise awareness in society at large about the serious problems faced by women, and to promote equality of rights and opportunities. A recent example of the commitment of the UN in this issue is the Declaration of the International Labour Organization on social justice for a fair globalization, which guarantees equality for all through employment, social protection, social dialogue and employment rights and principles. After several months of working with our network of organisations, they prepare for this new and exciting stage in their lives. The project “Greener Futures for Young People” will be coming to an end in July of this year after a year of hard work and dedication. The partners from France, Sweden, Spain and the UK have been workings towards the aim of raising the profile of the not-for-profit sector as a career choice for able young people, as well as to exchange good practices. On the 8th, 9th and 10th of February, Diagrama Foundation had the opportunity to visit its sister organisation in Murcia, Spain, to participate in the second partners' meeting for the Project “Greener Futures for Young People”. Also visiting the city were its European Partners, which include Action with Communities in Rural Kent (UK), Association de Sauvegarde et de Promotion de la Personne (France), and of course, the hosts for the visit, Fundación Diagrama (Spain). On the 17th, 18th and 19th of October, Action with Communities in Rural Kent and Diagrama Foundation welcomed its European partners to the launching event for the Project “Greener Futures for Young People” at its head office in East Brabourne, Kent. Part of the event included a visit to Elham Valley Vineyard and Garden Centre in the Kent Downs Area where they were given a tour of the Centre and had a chance to meet some of the people who work there.
